Carole Gething House, based in Small Heath, provides fully supported accommodation to young people aged 16-25.
Accommodation is provided in the form of 25 self-contained rooms each comprising of a large bed sitting room which is fully furnished which are internet and telephone ready. Each resident will have their own kitchen and shower room. There is a communal laundry in each of the three blocks. A new fully fitted ICT training and community room will enable young people to access internet, use and see audio visual presentations as well as prepare CV's and access jobsearch. This new communal facility is a major addition to enable young people to socialise and build further on their life skills and training.
Young people can stay with us here for up to 2 years.
The key worker will work with the young person to put together a bespoke support package which can be revisited as progress is made. Staff/key workers can assist with claims for benefits such as Job Seekers Allowance or Housing Benefit, assist young people to make a budget plan, give advice and guidance about healthy eating and shopping on a limited income.
All residents will have access to St Basils support services including Learning Skills and Work service , Prevention Services and Resettlement and Floating Support services.
