Youth Advisory Board recruits new members
St Basils has a Youth Advisory Board, made up of young people from St Basils who assist and advise Senior Managers, providing them with the young person's perspective on policy and other issues.
Last month the Youth Advisory Board instigated a recruitment drive, interviewing prospective candidates and we can now announce the successful appointment of five new board members;
- Sean Marsay
- Elizabeth Hewett
- Hawro Mohammad
- Shemilee Gordon
- Kirstie Matthews
The new recruits had their first Board meeting on 5th November and are now completing the Introduction to Youth Work course offered by Birmingham City Council. As well as sitting on the board the new members will also have the opportunity to get involved in the National Youth Reference Group, advising on housing policy affecting young people at a national level, which will keep them all very busy over the coming months!
The Youth Advisory Board would like to thank all those who made referrals during the recruitment drive. The Board will be recruiting again in the New Year.
