Rules of Entry for the St Basils Schools Sculpture Challenge
This challenge is free to enter and has been designed to be fun, educational and beneficial to all parties involved. But St Basils and Cadbury must be assured that all eventualities, however unlikely, have been covered, so please read the following 5 disclaimer points carefully.
- There must be a lead teacher attached to the project. This teacher must be a recognised employee of the school they are representing.
- A responsible attitude must be applied when gathering the cardboard for the challenge. Please make sure you have the permission of the person supplying the cardboard boxes before taking them. St Basils and Cadbury will not take responsibility for any actions made by schools or their pupils in the name of this challenge.
- St Basils and Cadbury will not take responsibility for any accidents sustained whilst collecting the cardboard or the construction of the sculptures. Please make sure that all activities pertaining to this challenge are supervised by a recognised teacher of the school. The health and safety of all concerned with this challenge is of paramount concern to St Basils and Cadbury.
- The disposal of the sculptures, after the challenge is over, is the sole responsibility of the school. Please dispose of the cardboard in a responsible manner and one that is conducive with the recycling ethos shared by St Basils and Cadbury.
- Cadbury have agreed to sponsor this challenge because they are very keen to support St Basils in their work to help prevent youth homelessness, to help provide an exercise within schools which helps raise the awareness of homelessness, plus issues about the environment, whilst getting pupils working together and encouraging imaginative thinking. However as part of Cadbury’s marketing code of conduct there should be no Cadbury branding or reference to Cadbury advertising placed in a domain where school pupils have access. Teachers are therefore advised to develop their own posters and inform their pupils about the challenge with little reference to Cadbury. If any school contradicts this rule they will be removed from the challenge.
If you are unclear on any of these points please contact the Schools Sculpture Challenge organisers at St Basils on 0121 772 9614 or email: fundraising@stbasils.org.uk
