Support from Schools/Colleges

" The development of the perception young people have of their surroundings and their personal role in those surroundings is one of the most important responsibilities we have. kathy hallidayCitizenship is part of the National Curriculum and as part of this, schools and colleges aim to promote pupils’ self esteem and emotional well-being as well as encouraging respect for themselves and for others. One way of contributing both to this aim and to the wider community is to undertake some support for a local or regional charity."

class roomEvery year St Basils works with schools and colleges based in the region, to help promote awareness around issues that lead to homelessness. Our Prevention Team is a regular visitor to these educational establishments, giving comprehensive and interactive session about how to identify triggers that can lead to unsettlement, kids and cardboardand our Schools Fundraising Officer can often be found addressing school assemblies or holding advice sessions with the teachers and pupils on 'How to raise funds whilst having fun'.
