Langley School donate over £1000 worth of starter pack items.
20 JUN 2017

This month we were very lucky to receive over £1000 worth of starter pack items from the pupils of Langley Secondary School in Solihull. This included pots and pans, kitchen utensil, towels, duvets, toiletries and store cupboard food. (Just to name a few!!)

Langley School is working with Dame Kelly Holmes Trust to run AQA Unlocking Potential. The programme motivates and inspires young people aged between 14 and 19 by providing them with eight months of dedicated support from high achieving athletes. As well as receiving in-depth mentoring, the young people plan and deliver a project in their local community. Our programme is not aimed at developing the potential of future sports stars, but at any young person who needs an inspirational helping hand.

“The students here at Langley, on the AQA Aim Higher Programme, chose to support St Basils as they wanted to make direct impact on the life of a homeless person in Birmingham.” Miss Johnson & Mrs Botley, Programme Co-ordinators.

Barrie Hodge, head of fundraising at St Basils said, "We are truly overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of Langley school. The initiative run by the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust has been wonderful. The pupils should be very proud as they have had such a positive impact on the lives of the young people we support."

WOW! How amazing is that?! Well done to all pupils and staff at Langley Secondary School in Solihull – All those items will go towards ensuring a young person has what they need to move on confidently. Thank you so much.
