St Basils Receives £54K funding boost from Worcestershire freemasons

We are overjoyed at the kind donation of £54,146 made by the Worcestershire Freemasons.

Barrie Hodge, Head of fundraising said “We are absolutely overwhelmed with the generosity of the Worcestershire Freemasons, we are delighted they have decided to support our much needed work in the Bromsgrove area”.

“This fabulous grant will enable us to employ a full time support worker to help young people regain the stability they need to rebuild their lives, gain new skills, employment and a place of their very own to live. We are very grateful to the Worcestershire Freemasons for thinking of us, the money will make a huge difference to vulnerable young people in the area”

Leigh Hesketh, Support Manager for Bromsgrove added “We are overjoyed that the Worcestershire Freemasons have decided to support this this much needed work in the Worcestershire area. This grant will allow us to provide a floating support/Psychologically Informed Environment worker to support all local young people moving into their own homes. It will really help to ensure a successful supported transition into independence. Having the extra support will allow the young people to have someone available to assist with any issues that may arise during their transitional period, offering help, advice and much needed emotional support, this will hopefully ensure they sustain their tenancy and break the cycle of homelessness. We cannot thank Worcestershire Freemasons enough for the opportunity to provide this much needed service”

There are currently over 75,000* young people impacted by homelessness across the country, St Basils help to support over 5,000.

The money will help young vulnerable people break the cycle of homelessness so they can go on to experience a bright, fulfilling future.
