St Basils has an exciting opportunity for a Business and Communities Executive to be based from Birmingham with travel across St Basils’ locations.  You will have the autonomy to build meaningful relationships with potential corporate supporters and to maintain established relationships which encourage long term commitment and giving.

 

This is a permanent, full time position working 37.5 hours per week.

 

Salary: £23,566 – £25,141

At St Basils we help over 5,000 vulnerable young people every year across the West Midlands to find safe, stable accommodation. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the immediate needs of young people and to showcase your caring nature and ability to champion adversity. This role requires expert knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable people as well as a core understanding of issues surrounding youth homelessness such as mental health, domestic violence and care leavers.

The role of a Corporate & Communities Fundraiser is raising charitable donations to help fund our homeless prevention services. Working as part of a team we do this by making compelling cases for support to Trusts and Foundations (through funding application processes), to local businesses, community groups and the general public. They also run a number of large scale public fundraising events and marketing campaigns.

 

We are looking for people who:

  • Have experience of working in a customer focused environment including front line customer service experience
  • Have experience of managing a case load and completing case work effectively
  • Have knowledge of Housing Acts particularly Homelessness
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Have good planning and organising skills
  • Are accurate and attentive to detail
  • Are confident using Jigsaw and QL databases
  • Are empathetic and able to deal with young people in a sensitive and appropriate manner in a demanding environment
  • Have experience of applying the relevant legislation

  • Maths and English GCSE Grade C or above
  • Experience of IT systems and an understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and internet

The role of a Corporate & Communities Fundraiser is raising charitable donations to help fund our homeless prevention services. Working as part of a team we do this by making compelling cases for support to Trusts and Foundations (through funding application processes), to local businesses, community groups and the general public. They also run a number of large scale public fundraising events and marketing campaigns.

 

We are looking for people who:

  • Have experience of working in a customer focused environment including front line customer service experience
  • Have experience of managing a case load and completing case work effectively
  • Have knowledge of Housing Acts particularly Homelessness
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Have good planning and organising skills
  • Are accurate and attentive to detail
  • Are confident using Jigsaw and QL databases
  • Are empathetic and able to deal with young people in a sensitive and appropriate manner in a demanding environment
  • Have experience of applying the relevant legislation

St Basils has an exciting opportunity for a Fundraising Executive to be based from Birmingham with travel across St Basils’ locations.  You will have the autonomy to build meaningful relationships with potential corporate supporters and to maintain established relationships which encourage long term commitment and giving.

 

This is a permanent, full time position working 37.5 hours per week.

 

Salary: £23,566 – £25,141

 

Closing date: 25th May, midday

St Basils works with young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, helping over 5000 young people per year across the West Midlands region with specific services in Birmingham, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, the Wyre Forest and Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver specialist guidance and advice to improve the employability prospects of those that have experienced homelessness.

 

Key activities specific to the role include:

  • Support the Head of Fundraising and Communications in the development of St Basils fundraising strategy.
  • To follow up fundraising approaches/enquiries via telephone, email and social media.
  • To build meaningful relationships with potential corporate supporters and to maintain established relationships which encourage long term commitment and giving.

The ideal candidate will hold:

  • Experience pf building and maintaining relationships that generate income.
  • Have knowledge of the corporate world.
  • Have confidence to lead when called upon.
  • Experience in using a CRM system to manage their workload and use it to inform decisions.
  • Be self-sufficient.  
  • Sound experience of IT systems, including data entry and working with databases and an understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets, Internet and Email.
  • Relevant experience of involvement in fundraising events.
